We heart emojis–the ELLE Canada team alone probably sends about a gazillion a day. But have you ever really stopped to look at the images?

Always (yes, the pad company) did and noticed that the female emojis were a) mostly pink b) only doing girlie things like getting a manicure or a haircut. (Fun, yes, but not all we do.) Male emojis, meanwhile, were playing sports or representing professions such as police officers and detectives.

The brand has addressed the issue in a video for their ongoing #LikeAGirl campaign, asking teens what emojis they’d like to see on their phones. “What message are we sending when one of the languages they use most, emojis, limits them to stereotypes,” asks the video.

What woman emoji would you like to see?
