Kate Middleton was spotted attending Sunday service at Crathie Kirk alongside her husband, Prince William, and son Prince George. Her appearance at the Scottish church, set on the Balmoral estate, is her first since confirming her cancer diagnosis back in March.

For the occasion, Kate wore a checkered brown coat from Holland Cooper, accessorizing with a dark brown fedora hat adorned with orange and brown feathers. She let her brunette locks flow freely, and finished off her look with a pair of dangling gold earrings. See photos here.

Besides her immediate family, Kate was also joined by King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, James, Earl of Wessex and Sir Tim Laurence. The royals, including Kate and William, are currently in Scotland to join the king on his annual summer break in Balmoral.

The getaway may also be a respite for Kate, who has been battling cancer and, as a result, has been unable to participate in some of her public royal duties. In June, she attended the annual Trooping the Colour with Prince William and her three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—and in mid-July, she stepped out at Wimbledon, where she was greeted by a standing ovation. Since then, she’s only been seen in a surprise video where she praised the achievements of Team Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Earlier this summer, Kate shared an update of her progress on social media, saying she had “good days” and “bad days.”

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty,” Kate wrote in the update. “Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal. Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”
