Yesterday, Kate Middleton and Prince William released their formal statement on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement on Twitter:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said of the engagement:
'We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to
know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.'

But Middleton got a little more personal this morning at London’s Foundling Museum when she was asked by a reporter about her feelings on the news. “Oh, William and I are absolutely thrilled,” she said with a smile. “It’s such exciting news. It’s a really happy time for any couple, and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.”

Markle called The Duchess of Cambridge out as being “absolutely amazing” to her during her first interview with Harry yesterday. “The family has absolutely been solid support,” Harry added.
