How did Harry and Meghan look at the altar?

Meghan was glowing, Harry was brushing tears from his cheeks, they both were giddy as they exchanged vows and there was applause when they officially became husband and wife.

What did Meghan wear?

In a surprise move, Meghan opted for a gorgeous gown by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The British designer is the first female artistic director at the French fashion house. For her veil, Meghan asked that each of the 53 Commonwealth countries were incorporated into the design, using flora from each nation.

What about her tiara?

To hold up her stunning veil, the Queen loaned Meghan Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara. Made specifically for Queen Mary in 1932, with the centre brooch—made up of 10 diamonds—dating back to 1893.

Did Meghan promise to “obey” in her vows?

No! Just as Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, and Meghan’s new sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, did at their own weddings, Meghan skipped the traditional promise to “obey” her husband.

What were some of the most memorable moments of the ceremony?

Chicago bishop Michael Curry delivered an impassioned address at the wedding, referencing the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Dr. King was right: ‘We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love,’” he told Meghan and Harry. “‘And when we discover that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way.’” Curry is the first-ever black leader of the Episcopal Church, which is part of the Anglican community. A gospel choir also performed a goosebumps-inducing rendition of “Stand By Me.”

In another moving moment, Lady Jane Fellowes, the late Princess Diana’s older sister, read a passage from the Bible during the hour-long ceremony.

Did Harry do anything special for his bride?

In a v. romantic move, Prince Harry hand-picked flowers from their private garden back home at Kensington Palace to add to Meghan’s bespoke bouquet.

What Are Their official titles?

As expected the newlyweds will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry also received two additional titles: Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel.

What did Harry wear?

Both Harry and best man Wills were in the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals. Prince Harry got special permission from the Queen to wear his army uniform.

But will Harry wear a wedding ring?

Yes! Even though Prince William does not (it’s personal preference), Harry will wear a band, which was revealed by the official order of the service even before we saw the happy couple exchange rings.

Who ended up on the guest list?

It was truly an A-list affair for Meghan and Harry. We already knew Meghan’s Suits co-stars would be showing up, as well as her celeb BFFs Priyanka Chopra and Serena Williams, and that Princess Diana’s close friend Elton John was a safe bet. Also in the crowd were George and Amal Clooney, Carey Mulligan, Tom Hardy and Oprah.

Did they kiss?

Not in the church, sadly, but afterwards they obliged the crowds with a kiss on the steps of St. George’s Chapel!
