Celebrities are, for the most part, dealing with COVID-19 like the rest of us: by staying at home and practicing social distancing. Some, like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, are using their platforms to encourage fans to follow advice from public health officials, while others, like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, are donating money to relief funds. Then there’s Jared Leto, who was at a silent retreat and had “no idea” what was going on in the world for the past two weeks. Here is a roundup of how celebrities are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jared Leto Just Realized The Extent of the Coronavirus Pandemic

Jared Leto completed a silent retreat on March 16, and said he had “no idea what was happening outside the facility.”

“Wow. 12 days ago I began a silent meditation in the desert,” wrote Leto in an Instagram post. “We were totally isolated. No phone, no communication etc. We had no idea what was happening outside the facility. Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing – to say the least.”

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Donate $1 Million To Food Banks

Lively announced on her Instagram page that she, along with her husband, Reynolds, would be donating a total of $1 million to Food Banks Canada and Feeding America in an effort to support low-income families and individuals.
