We never really had Kate Middleton down as a Gucci girl—she’s just not quirky like that—but turns out even the DoC isn’t immune to Alessandro Michele fever.

Kate wore a dress from the storied Italian fashion house to an event at London’s Victoria and Albert museum today, and while we would have loved to see the tweed-and-red shift paired with a cool flat shoe (a loafer, perhaps? I hear Gucci do those), she otherwise played by her tried-and-tested playbook: A block heel in a neutral colour and a clutch for optimal awkward handshake avoidance.
