The Duchess of Cambridge made her second public appearance sans William, arriving in the tiny European country via private jet. Technically she’s there to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Treaty of London (quick history lesson: it basically established the land-locked country’s independence) but most people are interpreting it as unofficial “Brexit ambassador” jaunt, aka the royals doing their bit to smooth the UK’s exit from the EU.

In that light, you can read all sorts of hidden messages in Kate’s new Emilia Wickstead coat—that serene blue meant to project peace and calm and carrying on perhaps? Or you know, the colour and cut just suit her and it was a bit chilly?
