This fall's must-read celebrity memoirs

by : Erika David- Oct 19th, 2016

1/6

Sorry Not Sorry by Naya Rivera

ELLE Canada

Glee star Naya Rivera’s autobiography is unapologetically honest – which is exactly why you won’t be able to put it down. Among the highlights? Butting heads with Glee co-star Lea Michele and catching then-BF Big Sean with a certain “Dangerous Woman”. #juicy

Nasty Galaxy by Sophia Amoruso

ELLE Canada

Nasty Gal founder and New York Times best-selling author of #GIRLBOSS is back with another coffee-table read. Sophia Amoruso’s Nasty Galaxy is a highly visual (think lots and lots of photos) compilation of short BS-free personal essays, interviews with a dozen #girlbosses (Gwyneth Paltrow and Leandra Medine included), and inspirational quotes to help you cope with adulting.

Gone 'Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island by Lil Wayne

ELLE Canada

Based on a journal Lil Wayne kept during his eight-month incarceration at Rikers for gun possession charges, Gone ‘Til November is a first-hand look at the rapper’s mundane musings about the highs and lows behind bars. He talks American Idol, officiating a gay marriage, and yes, that time Drake came to visit him in jail to confess he had hooked up with Wayne’s girl.

Around the Way Girl by Taraji P. Henson

ELLE Canada

“I’m just a girl who went to Hollywood with my son, $700, and a dream,” said Henson in a statement about her memoir. From raising her son as a single mom (his father was murdered) to her struggles as a black actress in Hollywood, Taraji comically and candidly delivers the lessons she’s learned to live and love life on her own terms.

Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick (November 15)

ELLE Canada

Anna Kendrick can now add author to her list of accomplishments. Scrappy Little Nobody is a collection of autobiographical essays about Kendrick’s childhood and her climb to Hollywood-darling staus. In a statement about the book, she quipped, “I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea.”

Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham (November 29)

ELLE Canada

You just might LOL at everything you read in Lauren Graham’s new book. She talks about the flak she gets for being single in Hollywood, her obsession with Ellen DeGeneres, and the role that made her a TV icon. Bonus: B&W photos and excerpts from a diary she kept while filming the Gilmore Girls revival included!
