I didn’t know what to expect when I sat down to see the campy onstage musical production of Evil Dead. The adaptation of Sam Raimi’s original 1981 film is an international hit, but I didn’t realize I would have to clean fake blood off my (new!) boots. I also didn’t know how funny it would be. The show—which is probably the only musical to have Splatter Zone seats, unless you count the spit coming off the Rent performers—boasts a Thriller-esque dance number, countless demons, a well-timed Honey Boo Boo joke and fully functioning chainsaw. What else could you ask for in a stage show?
Evil Dead will be playing in Toronto until January 5th, 2014 (evildeadthemusical.com) Read more:
