It was a milestone moment for designer Mani Jassal, who celebrated the launch of her new store and showroom at Yorkville Village this week. For the occasion, guests were treated to a static presentation of Jassal’s latest collection, Free Spirit, and mingled over desserts and drinks.

Jassal launched her label in 2014 after studying fashion design in university. To date, she has produced seven collections which have launched at Toronto Fashion Week and solo shows. The designer’s signature contemporary, South Asian-influenced approach to luxury evening and bridal wear have been worn by celebrities like Hannah Simone, Rupi Kaur and Bebe Rexha, to name a few.

The event was produced by THE COLLECTIONS in collaboration with Toronto Fashion Week and RESET. DJ Envy kept the energy up while guests got a close-up look at Mani Jassal’s designs worn by models throughout the store. Simone Otis from P1M Artist Management created a natural make-up look to complement a gold foil hair design from Redken 5th Avenue NYC.

The night ended off with a special performance from Toronto-based drag queen Humza. Wake and Bake by Simmy Jassal catered the event with sweet treats like lemon and raspberry gelee and panna cotta, also topped with a sprinkle of gold foil.

The Mani Jassal store and showroom is located at 55 Avenue Road in Yorkville Village.
