The Stylist: Alisa Krost

After working in both film and fashion all over the world, Krost fell in love with Toronto and has been based there ever since. She’s styled celebrities including Nelly Furtado, Liv Tyler and Rachel McAdams.

The Victim: Britney Spears

If you want to be taken seriously, don’t dress so provocatively. She is a pretty girl, but is not doing herself any favours. Her legs are one of her assets (minis work for her), but this is more like a top than a dress. Try: layering, less skin. Be more adventurous. I would recommend designers like D&G, Miss Sixty, Marc by Marc Jacobs or Proenza Schouler.

The Victim: Lindsay Lohan

Normally Lindsay has more fashion savvy, but this is tragic. Hollaback girl! The proportions are wrong for her and the garters are tacky. It would work so much better if she were barelegged. She is a beautiful girl and has a nice body, so can wear almost anything. Be more inventive, like mixing patterns or clashing colours. I’d recommend Balanciaga, Undercover or Versace.

The Victim: Nicolette Sheridan

Fredricks of Hollywood meets jeans and a tank? I think casual chic is a great idea, but put together. A bit of sophistication that is a touch flirty, feminine, cool and simple. I think she should dress a bit more like Annette Bening. She should try Alberta Ferretti, Bottega Veneta, Giorgio Armani or Michael Kors.

The Victim: Paula Abdul

Please Paula, don’t show this outfit to Simon! This one needs to be retired to your grandmothers’ trunk. This bustier is busy and it chops her body. A one-piece solid black halter dress will instantly make her look longer. A gorgeous slim cut pantsuit in an iridescent fabric would be cool and more modern. I would recommend Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Gucci, Narciso Rodriguez or Valentino.

The Buyer: Lisa Corbo

Initially a buyer and merchandiser in Australia, Corbo worked at Holt Renfrew after settling in Toronto. Eventually she joined her husband at the Corbo Boutique in Yorkville. Now she’s focusing on their new and highly successful luxury boutique george C. "Being credible to the designers you love is very flattering," gushes Corbo, "but the ultimate is when your client calls you to ask what lipstick to wear with the frock she brought from you last November."

The Victim: Britney Spears

My advice is she should wear only black for at least the next two years and keep it simple (call Jennifer Aniston when in doubt.) She should fly into Toronto for an immediate style-adjustment. Once in this great city, she can get inspired, add a more conservative spin — or go back to basics — and still go wild on accessories. Hair pulled back, Pout lipgloss, Etro bangles and a stunning Zagliani silver snakeskin bag — this is all she needs!

The Victim: Lindsay Lohan

Her fashion choices here don’t work for her: the reason — overkill, overkill, overkill! Wear one trend at a time. She should accessorize less and create more mystique. To create a modern identity she should select collections like 6267 and Albino with their avant-garde couture fabrications and impeccable cut.

The Victim: Nicolette Sheridan

Nicolette’s first no-no is that self-confidence is not always a blessing. A more structured approach in her clothing choices would still reveal sexiness, but would add more
soffisticazione. I would love to see her discover Costume National for her lean body type. She should wear J-Brand denim with a Rachel Pally red and white stripe skinny top, topped off with an amazing Neil Barrett leather jacket. Eat your heart out Teri Hatcher!

The Victim: Paula Abdul

Paula has been in TV wonderland for so long that she forgets to match her top half with her sexy bottom silhouette. I would love to see her embrace her fabulous body type by bringing her look to a softer level. I insist on a quick trip to New York. Derek (as in Lam) should become her best friend. She needs clothing that is made for women — sophisticated and still sexy.

The Designer: Paul Hardy

Canadian born and based, Hardy began as a design school graduate, to a personal shopper, to his current status as acclaimed fashion designer. His celebrity list of clientele includes Alanis Morisette, the O.C.’s Kelly Rowan and Sandra Oh. "I love the freedom of being my own boss," says Hardy. "I would rather be poor and have that asset than wealthy and live at the mercy of my circumstances."

The Victim: Britney Spears

Typically when you come into money, one would hope that your style would improve. She is prone to overexposure of everything even when she is dressed. She should move away from rapper video chic — now that K-Fed has been FedExed — and seek a sleeker look. A more modest neckline could improve her trailer park image.

The Victim: Lindsay Lohan

Her bout with rehab has helped her immensely. Here she should be wearing a set of full tights or leggings. I recently saw her wearing rather high-waisted shorts, although a trend, did not work. It’s a tough look to pull off with such white skin. Also, pink does not work well with her skin tone.

The Victim: Nicolette Sheridan

She fails by not dressing age appropriate. She needs to stop the low-cut epidemic too. A softer look would make her look like she’s not grappling for her youth. Donna Karan and Doo. Ri jerseys would be good lines. She should avoid the lingerie as outerwear shops.

The Victim: Paula Abdul

She always has too much of everything on. Too much print, too much pattern, too much jewelry, too much hair, it is all too much! Small people often try to overcompensate for their height. She needs to tone it down and simplify. Skinny jeans will elongate her legs because she is petite. A high-waisted skirt or belt works because she is not too busty.
