When it comes to charity work, Arcade Fire definitely put their money where their mouths are. At a concert in Quebec City on Tuesday, the Montreal band announced their involvement with a new aid organization called KANPE, which seeks to provide Haiti with the tools it needs to rebuild itself in a sustainable way.
Then they pledged to match their fans’ donations to KANPE—up to $1 million. “Please take our money!” singer Win Butler said to the crowd before inviting the Haitian band Ram onstage to join in on the Arcade Fire song “Haiti.”
