I’m at Dior’s couture house in Paris for the launch of a new lip shade, but it’s not beauty that’s distracting me at the moment. It’s fashion—couture one-of-a-kind pieces, to be more exact. I am within pawing distance of the famous black leather corseted mini-dress the house designed for Kate Moss. Being this close to high design has me wanting to overhaul my closet and trade in my cotton maxi skirt for a feather-embellished crystal adorned ball gown. Seems reasonable, no? While a couture wardrobe isn’t in the budget, I can at least experience a little Dior swagger—and even a touch of Moss’ effortless rock ’n’ roll vibe—with the new Dior Addict Extreme lipstick. Kate Moss, who has been the face of Dior since 2011, offers up these fashion and beauty tips.

Rituals
“I wear lipstick for an occasion, although I believe it brightens up any outfit. When I put on a
red lip, I instantly feel glamorous. And I always use an eyelash curler before applying mascara to really open my eyes.”

Quick trick “Dick Page taught me this: After applying your lipstick, blot your lips with your fingers and then pat the remaining colour on your cheeks for an instant glow.”

Icon Moment
“I have been the face of Dior accessories since 2005, and have often thought about what I would ask Monsieur Dior if he were still alive. First off I’d ask him to make a line of jeans for women. Then, can we be best friends?”

Flashback
“The first lipstick I ever wore was Heather Shimmer [Rimmel London], an iridescent lilac colour. We all wore it!”

Fashion swing
"I think that fashion and beauty is much more accessible now then when I started in the industry. You don’t just have to be in the industry or have loads of money to look good. Now I think some of the most interesting style is found on kids on the street.”

BeautyBuzz-05-ec0412edit.jpgBeauty muses "I love Anita Pallenberg and Julie Christie. They’re beautiful and intense women who were—and still are—style icons; they’re both so unique.”

Lip service “My mouth is my favourite feature, which is probably why I love lipstick so much. I’ve always loved a red lip, but lately I’ve been really into nudes.”

City escape “My favourite city is London, but I love escaping to Paris every chance I get. It is such a beautiful city, if I could give the Eiffel tower as a gift I would wrap it up and give it to my daughter.”

Down time “When I am not working I like to unwind with a good book or movie. My favourite book is In the Pursuit of Love, by Nancy Mitford. My favourite movie is Withnail and I.”
