Summer is here, and your glow-up is calling.

No one knows “glow” better than celeb makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who is on her own mission to illuminate.

“Everyone needs to glow,” she tells me, standing in a soft-pink room dedicated to her new Glowgasm range of creamy powder and liquid highlighters in her office in SoHo, N.Y.

“If you think about it, all the times that you glow are: on a holiday, on a beach, after sex…[it’s] happiness, laughter, fun. And who doesn’t want that every single day?”

For natural-looking highlighter placement that tricks the eye into thinking everything is inches higher than it is, apply directly to the top of the cheekbones—but not too close to the eyes.

“If you’ve gone off the bone, you know it’s not right,” says Tilbury. And don’t forget along the nose (but not on the tip) and in the inner corners of the eyes.

Of course, the best base for any makeup is glowing skin, and the key to achieving it sans highlighter is proper skincare.

In the morning, use brightening vitamin C products; look for L -ascorbic acid or tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate on the label.

Acid Exfoliants for Nighttime

At night, exfoliate; I find acid-based exfoliants, as opposed to physical scrubs, the most direct path to a JLo-esque glow.
