No longer getting carded at the bar? Blame your dark circles. According to an Olay clinical study of 55 women between the ages of 20 and 45, the skin around the eyes is biologically about 10 to 15 years older than the rest of the face.

The reason? It’s much thinner, has fewer oil glands and has as much trouble holding onto moisture as we do our savings during sale season. “Even when you’re 20, the elasticity [around the eyes] is already lower than the rest of the face,” says Dr. Frauke Neuser, principal scientist for Olay

Neuser was involved in the research behind a revamp of Olay’s collection of eye creams, which includes the new one-size-fits-all solution Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream. It contains a cocktail of anti-wrinkle heroes, such as niacinamide and pentapeptide, combined with colour-correcting pigment to instantly brighten circles.

In other words, don’t leave home without your ID.
