“I don’t believe in a cookie-cutter approach,” says Dr. Christopher Pavlou, founder of Vancouver’s Skin Technique, which specializes in medical aesthetics. “I like to honour the natural beauty that exists in everybody…rather than a version that doesn’t exist.” With this less-is-more philosophy, Dr. Pavlou not only encourages his patients to simply enhance their features but he also customizes each patient’s treatment. The clinic’s most popular procedure, called MystLiftTM, is Dr. Pavlou’s trademark treatment and uses a combination of Botox and fillers placed strategically around the face. “Combination treatments actually have more natural results because the entire face is treated rather than one little spot,” says Dr. Pavlou.

Patients looking for body-contouring treatments receive the same customized mix-and-match approach. “We address fat reduction using CoolSculpting, the world’s most well-known body-contouring device, muscle density with Emsculpt, the only device that can both burn fat and build muscle at the same time, and we also look at skin tightening,” explains Dr. Pavlou, adding that many other clinics only address one of the three issues.

Regardless of the procedure, from Forever Young BBL to lip fillers and non-surgical nose jobs, Dr. Pavlou ensures that each patient leaves looking like an enhanced version of themselves—though he insists that, thanks to social media, patients are already knowledgeable about specific treatments and the natural-looking results they offer. “People are very well informed when they’re coming in to see us.”

Dr. Christopher Pavlou started his career as a medical doctor and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in South Africa in 2004 before transitioning to medical aesthetics full-time in 2012. In 2017, he opened his own clinic, Skin Technique, in Vancouver.
