Elevated bodycare
Japanese-influenced beauty brand Tatcha already has an array of cult-favourite products, but it never really focused its energy on bodycare products—until now. The Forest Awakening collection is a trio of products inspired by hinoki (Japanese cypress), which is known for its soothing, woodsy and spice-tinged fragrance. Choose from a cleansing and exfoliating body wash, silky hydrating body milk and a nourishing, fast-absorbing body oil.
Price: from $52
A facial in a bottle
Drunk Elephant’s very potent T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial is already super popular among the brand’s American consumers, beloved for its pro-level ability to visibly clarify and improve the texture of skin. For the first time ever, the product—formulated with a 25 percent AHA blend, salicylic acid, skin-boosting antioxidants and brightening chickpea flour—is available to purchase in Canada for the first time. Exfoliate with caution.
Price: $105
A versatile concealer
Available in 30 blendable shades, Milk Makeup’s Future Fluid All Over Cream Concealer offers medium-to-full coverage for all your covering and sculpting needs. With a natural, crease-free finish, the product also delivers an extra dose of hydration to skin thanks to a powerful Hyaluronic AI Plant Complex that works to restore and protect the barrier.
Price: $38
A must-try mascara
How does Tower 28’s new MakeWaves Mascara at once curl, lengthen and define the look of lashes? The answer comes in two parts. First is the formula, which includes Aquaflex Technology, a clinically-proven ingredient often used in hair care that uses memory hold to set the shape while helping keep lashes soft and lifted. Then there is the triple-wave wand, which has three connected, flexible bands designed to capture every single lash. Also worth noting: the vegan formula is buildable, easy to wash off (which means less breakage) and sensitive-eye friendly.
Price: $26
For a new signature fragrance
In search of a new scent for autumn? Enter Aesop’s newest fragrance, Eidesis Eau de Parfum. Created with longtime collaborator, French nose Barnabé Fillion, the woody scent—which, by the way, is genderless—imparts alluring notes of black pepper, petitgrain, frankincense, cumin, cedar, sandalwood and vetiver.
Price: $255
For prolonging summer
Beach waves outside of summer? Yes, please. Achieve the perfectly tousled look of your sun-kissed dreams with Redken’s sea-salt-free lightweight Beach Spray, which provides medium control to boost up texture, body and volume. Unfortunately, this spray won’t make you forget about the cooler weather outside.
Price: $25
A winter-ready moisturizer
Ceramides are an essential in every skincare routine. The lipids are naturally found in our skin and they help limit moisture loss and shield against damage. But, because of age and sun damage, our natural supply does deplete over time. That’s why Indeed Laboratories made its In-Ceramide Daily Moisture Cream. It contains three different kinds of ceramides to be ultra moisturizing (but still feels light upon application), maintain barrier function and keep out environmental pollution.
Price: $25
For head-to-toe TLC
Fewer things feel better than how soft and smooth your skin feels after a full-body exfoliation. Designed for daily use in the shower, the new Goopglow Microderm Instant Glow Body Polish is formulated with ingredients like salt, garnet and quartz powders and hibiscus flower acid to gently cleanse, remove dead skin cells and hydrate skin all over your body. Follow it up with the just-launched Goopglow Afterglow Body Oil for extra moisture and nourishment.
Price: $62
A flower-forward range
According to The Body Shop, edelweiss, the tiny alpine flower, should be a skincare star: It produces its own, super strong antioxidant (leontopodic acid) that can help skin be more resilient against damaging environmental stressors. So, the brand built an entire line around it. Inspired by its popular Drops of Youth serum, the nine-product Edelweiss range works to protect and strengthen your skin barrier while leaving a lovely glow. Find moisturizers, masks, serums, a gel mist and more.
Price: from $8
A cool indie brand
Meet Alder New York, an indie brand launched in Brooklyn by two friends who wanted to create affordable, effective products that weren’t marketed to a particular gender. Now, its chic products are available to purchase in Canada for the first time (online and at Simons). Shop items like obsidian gua sha tools, the hyaluronic acid- and niacinamide-infused Balancing Serum and a rich moisturizer formulated with squalane and the retinol-alternative bakuchiol.
Price: from $12
A ready-to-go kit
To celebrate its launch at Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian purpose-led clean beauty brand Evio has curated a limited-edition Face Prep Kit. Inside, you’ll find a trio of some of Evio’s most loved products: the glow-inducing Revitalizing Oil Serum, the nourishing and subtly glossy Lip Serum and the mattifying Pore-fect Primer. Bonus: The makeup bag that comes with the kit is biodegradable, too.
Price: $75
A super effective cleanser
Layers and layers of makeup—including longwear waterproof products—are no match for this lavish Cleansing Oil from Clé de Peau Beauté. Suitable for all skin types, this cleanser is also formulated with moisturizing marula oil, softening meadowfoam oil and clarifying argan oil to give an extra hydrating boost to skin.
Price: $85
For acne-prone skin
Dealing with breakouts, blackouts and spots can be very frustrating. Treat and target acne-prone skin with SVR’s Sebiaclear range. The four-product line—which includes a cleansing gel, soothing moisturizer, correcting serum and an anti-mark gel—is formulated with active ingredients like gluconolactone (an acne-fighting ingredient that is as effective as benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid, yet more gentle on sensitive skin) and inflammation-reducing niacinamide to clear skin without causing irritation.
Price: from $15
A needed hydrator
Just in time for cooler weather comes Trinny London’s latest serum, Plump Up. Made with intensely hydrating hyaluronic acid and skin-plumping peptides, the serum also claims to strengthen skin, smooth fine lines, improve elasticity, aid collagen and elastin production and restore “bounce” and firmness. Thirsty skin will absolutely love it.
Price: $118
A targeted peel
Say goodbye to breakouts with Dermalogica’s Clear Start Liquid Peel. The chemical exfoliant is carefully formulated to effectively treat breakout-prone skin while minimizing the risk of irritation. The formula targets acne, smooths textures and fades marks with a blend of BHA (salicylic acid), AHAs (lactic and mandelic acids) and antioxidant-rich azelaic acid. And, as always, don’t forget to apply SPF after use.
Price: $40
A new-and-improved moisturizer
There are certain areas you can always strive for improvement in, just as Canadian brand Province Apothecary has done with its Nourishing + Revitalizing Moisturizer. Newly reformulated, the cream carries all the benefits of the OG (hydration, firming and reviving), while just added organic ingredients—such as redness-reducing Canadian willowherb and vitamin-rich quinoa peptides—aim to make it faster-absorbing, last longer, deliver greater hydration.
Price: $79
A luxe cleanser
Sensitive skin types won’t be able to get enough of Tata Harper’s Superkind Refining Cleanser. Ultra-fine rice powder, nutrient-dense oils and cranberry enzymes come together to remove grime, gently exfoliate and smooth texture without irritation. Your skin will look radiant and feel great—it’s the type of product that will make you love cleansing.
Price: $120
A do-it-all mask
For your next at-home spa day, why not try out Teaology’s Golden Matcha Face Mask? Made with ingredients like antioxidant-rich matcha, vitamin C-packed turmeric extract, firming mango and papaya enzymes and real tea leaves, the mask balances, brightens, exfoliates, nourishes and more. Basically, while you sit back and relax, this mask is hard at work.
Price: $50
A fun styling tool
This just in: You can get a multi-functional styling tool without totally blowing your budget. The new Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System can dry, curl, volumize and smooth strands with minimal heat exposure (meaning you won’t have to stress about heat damage). You don’t have to be a pro to use the device, and you can customize your own by choosing one of three attachments currently available (with more to come in the future).
Price: $350
A dreamy hand cream collection
Our quest for a new cold-weather hand cream is over before it’s even begun. Moroccanoil’s new hand cream collection wraps dry and tired hands with seriously hydrating ingredients like squalene, shea butter and argan oil, making them feel pampered like nothing else. The brand’s iconic signature scent (with notes of spicy amber and sweet florals) is back, while five completely new fragrances—such as the beacy Oud Minéral and energizing Bergamote Fraîche—are being launched as well.
