6 Must-Try Spa Experiences in Vancouver
You may already know where to go, but here's what to try.

Circle Wellness
The West Coast is home to some of the best wellness experiences–something about the marriage of mountains, water and trees creates the perfect alchemy for relaxation and rejuvenation, and the spas in Vancouver have tapped into that in a big way.
From the best spa experiences and treatments that are worth trying out this summer, here are 6 of our favourites.
Self-Guided Thermal Circuit, Circle Wellness
Located on Granville Island beneath the iconic yellow crane, self-guided thermal spa Circle Wellness looks like a bunker or shipping container from the street, but step inside and you’re surrounded by greenery and water, sequestered away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist destination. The spa is made up of 6 private clothing-optional circuits, each one with a bathroom, shower, hot and cold plunge pools, an infrared himalayan salt sauna and a thermal rock mat. An introductory video and audio cues guide you through the experience but the open-air space is entirely yours to enjoy at your own pace and comfort level. Exfoliating cloths, skin and body care products are also provided along with water and tea to enjoy throughout your 90-minute or two-hour experience.
The All-In Facial, Fig
For skincare devotees in Vancouver and Toronto, Formula Fig needs little introduction. Before expanding across Vancouver, Toronto and Los Angeles, this chain of stunning green tiled medi-spas began as a tiny four-chair facility in Kitsilano, delivering short but efficient facials with cutting edge technology and clean skincare products. While you can’t go wrong with any of the seven facial treatments Fig offers, the All-In facial is the ultimate skin reset. Combining microdermabrasion, LED light therapy, microcurrent and ultrasound treatments to exfoliate, sculpt and hydrate the skin, it helps skin to appear healthier, plumped and lifted in 30 minutes flat.
The Synesthesia Experience, Lush Spa
Tucked away in the back of the Lush store on Robson Street, The Lush Spa is one of Vancouver’s most underrated beauty spots. The small but mighty space boasts a long menu of decadent spa treatments that incorporate storytelling with all your favourite Lush products. In Vancouver, you can indulge in a 30 minute “Book A Bath” experience inspired by the Lake District in the UK. The climbing vines, moss wall and soft ambient lighting make it feel like you’re bathing in a fresh spring in the middle of the forest. Another favourite is the Synesthesia Experience, which starts with an 80 minute massage and features light, colour, scent and taste to indulge all five senses.
Customized Professional Facial Treatment, Ten Spot
With multiple locations across Canada, The Ten Spot offers nail, brow, lash and laser hair removal treatments, but it’s the Dermalogica facials that truly impress. The Vancouver’s Yaletown location doesn’t look like much without the benefit of showy design and amenities, but that leaves the treatments to speak for themselves. Visitors can choose from dermaplaning, peels and facial treatments, and the Customized Professional Facial Treatment is the stand out. Using Dermalogica to double cleanse and a mask that best suits your complexion, the esthetician will work to resurface, decongest and hydrate your skin. One hour and 10 products later, skin feels incredible.
Signature Rainforest Massage, Xylia Natural Spa at the Paradox
While well-known hotel spas like Fairmont’s Absolute Spa are certainly worth a visit, Paradox Hotel’s opulent Xylia Natural Spa has flown under the radar since its opening. The spa menu consists of physical and spiritual wellness offerings to rejuvenate body and mind with curated rituals that include herbal teas, steam showers, massage, and a private jacuzzi. The Signature Rainforest Massage combines Swedish and Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi techniques for a 60- or 90-minute deep tissue experience that promotes circulation and muscle relaxation. The experience can also be customized to incorporate sports therapy and ease tension in problem areas.
Espresso Coconut Purifying Scrub, The Spa at the Wedgewood
The Spa at the Wedgewood Hotel is on the smaller size compared to other hotel facilities but what it lacks in space it makes up for in exceptional service. The practitioners and staff are wonderfully attentive and skilled. To begin, you’re offered a cup of tea to enjoy in the lounge or on the terrace before your treatment, or you can take in the eucalyptus steam room so you’re extra relaxed beforehand. The extensive spa menu consists of massages, facial treatments and “body indulgences” which include scrubs and wraps. The Espresso Coconut Purifying Scrub combines an antioxidant-rich coffee scrub to exfoliate and improve circulation, followed by a decadent massage with a coconut moisturizer for an experience that leaves the body glowing and ready for bikini weather.
