It’s 2020: treating zits doesn’t have to mean dry, flaky skin. The new formulation of Vichy Normaderm Anti-Acne Moisturizer ($30, vichy.ca) contains 2% salicylic acid along with ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid and mineral-rich thermal water to control blemishes without disturbing your moisture barrier.

Hormones, diet and chronic stress (perhaps induced by pandemics) are all factors that may contribute to adult acne and an accelerated decline in the overall quality of the skin. Enter Dermalogica Retinol Clearing Oil ($114, dermalogica.ca), a lipid-based oil designed to be worn at night that contains time-released retinol and salicylic acid to ward off zits and rescue less-than-glowing skin. It’s delicately scented and employs rice starch to mop up excess oils without creating scalp-clogging buildup. Spray to your heart’s content.
