There's a new hyaluronic acid lotion in town
“It’s easy to make a hyaluronic acid product—it’s hard to make a good one."

“To me, if you have dehydrated skin, you’ll get the most instant effect by putting hyaluronic acid on your face,” says beauty vlogger and aesthetician Caroline Hirons. “If you are a bit older you will get an even better effect if you whack an oil on top of it.”
The jovial Brit was recently in Toronto sharing her skincare wisdom for the launch of Indeed Labs Hydraluron Intense Moisture Lotion, part of their popular Hydraluron line. Hirons is well known as an advocate for the collection—her readers and followers have coined it “Hironsluron”.
Hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring molecule that has the ability to attract and retain water) should be used at every stage in your life, says Hiron, whether you are “super young, or if you’re the other end and you wake up and think, ‘When did that happen?’ Or better yet, ‘When did that drop?’”
It is also something that should applied consistently. “The key to have really good hydrated skin is not to do it as a ‘Oh no I am suddenly dehydrated, I need to fix it,” she explains. “It’s to do it every day.”
Hydraluron Intense Moisture Lotion ($23), Hydraluron Moisture Jelly ($23), Hydraluron Moisture Serum ($23) at IndeedLabs.com.
The new Hydraluron Intense Moisture Lotion is “kind of a hybrid” between the brand’s Moisture Serum, which Hirons says she uses when she needs immediate relief from dry skin, and the Moisture Jelly. “[The lotion] has three different weights of hyaluronic acid so you will get the immediate gratification but it will continue to hydrate while you wear it,” she says.
Other than hyaluronic acid, Hiron’s go-to beauty products include “a balm cleanser, acids, toner, Vitamin C, retinols, some kind of mineral based serum and a really good facial oil.”
She really stresses the importance of an oil for mature skin: “When you’re on the other side of 45, you really notice the lack of elasticity in your skin,” she says.

When asked what two beauty products a minimalist could stake their skincare routine on, Hirons said an SPF and a cleanser—but that she would really recommend an acid and a serum beyond that.
“If you’re really young, I would say a vitamin C serum so you have antioxidants,” says Hirons. “If you’re older I would say a retinol. If you’re older you really don’t have the luxury of saying I only want to use two products—unless you have a really good derm and you’re lying about it!”
