A Must-Have Hair Tool With a New Twist
This is not a drill: Dyson Supersonic ($500) has just received an upgrade. The lightning-fast hair dryer is now available with a whopping five attachments: a styling concentrator, diffuser, gentle dryer, wide-tooth comb, and an all-new flyaway attachment, designed to smooth strays without the use of extreme heat. If you already own the OG Supersonic, we have good news: the new attachment is compatible with all existing devices, and can be purchased on its own for $50. Jen Atkin, celeb hairstylist, founder of Ouai haircare and global styling ambassador for Dyson, had this to say: “I think we can all agree that flyaway frustration is real! Nothing feels as good as that salon blow-dry finish. We want our clients to now be able to get that same glossy finish at home. Dyson’s latest attachment does exactly that – it allows smooth seekers to get a super sleek finish, on their own, not just from the salon.”
A Solution for Stressed Skin
Texture-refining bakuchiol, calming ceramides, hydrating squalane and redness-reducing CoQ10 come together in Peace Out Skincare’s Repairing Moisturizer ($35), a decidedly non-greasy moisturizer designed to transform acne-prone, sensitive and oily skin. Pair it with the brand’s blemish-busting cleansing balm and restorative acne serum and you’ve got a recipe for clear skin.
A Retinol That Keeps Your Skin Happy
Want to get into retinol but not sure how the temperamental ingredient will play with your skin? Give Kiehl’s Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum ($100) a whirl. The brand’s first-ever retinol serum is designed for daily use and features a blend of peptides to bolster the reparative benefits of retinol along with ceramides to protect the skin barrier from irritation. Best of all, it’s one of the few retinol-focused formulas that can be used day *and* night without causing damage –follow up with SPF and you’re golden.
A Gentle Acne Treatment
Now made with 100 percent recycled packaging, Caudalie’s re-launched Vinopure Collection (from $35) is designed to nix blemishes and mattify oily complexions. Look out for the latest Skin-Perfecting Serum, which includes zit-busting salicylic acid, skin-brightening niacinamide and antioxidant-loaded grape seed polyphenols–a signature Caudalie ingredient–to unclog pores and soothe the skin.
A Featherlight Mascara
Clean beauty brand Ilia’s second-ever mascara, Fullest Volumizing Mascara ($37), has landed. Designed with a unique violin-shaped brush to create a lovely fanned-out effect, the fragrance-free formula is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers alike. Better yet, the formula includes haircare ingredients like arginine and provitamin B5 to condition and strengthen lash hairs with every swipe.
A Calming Face Cream
Tatcha’s latest drop, Indigo Overnight Repair ($114) was made with the microbiome in mind. Its star ingredient, Japanese Indigo, is loaded with anti-inflammatory ingredients tryptanthrin and indirubin to reduce redness, while antimicrobial mondo grass keeps the skin’s natural balance intact. It’s also infused with Tatcha’s signature Hadasei-3 complex, which includes rice, green tea, and algae, for an extra layer of antioxidant protection.
A Must-Have Spot Treatment
Whether you have acne-prone skin or not, we’ve all come to experience the odd monster pimple that seems to appear out of thin air. To make spots vanish as quickly as they appear, we swear by the latest addition to Vichy’s game-changing Normaderm lineup: Phytosolution Acne Spot Treatment ($29). Formulated with glycolic acid, 10 percent sulfur and niacinamide, this targeted spot treatment shrinks pimples overnight–no joke.
A Cooling Skin Duo
If fancy skin treatments are your thing, you can’t go wrong with Charlotte Tilbury’s new cryotherapy-inspired releases. Enter the Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum ($78) – a caffeine-infused eye serum featuring a nifty cooling wand – and the accompanying Face Mask ($76), which combines the inflammation-reducing power of ice-cold temperatures with facial acupressure. The result? Lifted, visibly de-puffed skin that glows all over.
An Eye-Enhancing Treatment
Can’t get enough of Estee Lauder’s cult-favourite ANR formula? Add the new Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex ($98) to your skincare lineup stat. Featuring a cooling steel applicator, the eye-enhancing formula encourages the natural production of collagen to improve elasticity and bounce. And don’t be fooled by the name–you can apply the solution directly onto fine lines for a little extra plumping action.
A Natural Deodorant That Works
Indigenous-owned beauty brand Wildcraft has launched a creamy, all-natural deodorant that *actually* works–and it won’t irritate your skin. Available in Lavender and Sage and Lime and Bergamot scents, the soothing formula swaps out baking soda and aluminum for absorbent and soothing ingredients like magnesium and kaolin clay. The cherry on top? It works all day long–no re-application necessary.
A Splurge-Worthy Serum
Treat yourself to radiant skin with the latest from Parisian beauty brand Sisley, Sisleÿa L’Integral Anti-Age Radiance Anti-Dark Spot Serum ($700). It features Lansium Extract, which pauses the expression of Tyrosinase, a melanin-synthesizing protein responsible for the dark spots that come with age and bad habits of years past (tanning beds, anyone?). With a delightfully sensorial gel texture and plenty of hydrating benefits, it’s pure indulgence in a bottle.
An Adorable Skincare Collab
If you’re looking to indulge on a significantly smaller budget, you *need* to hit “add-to-cart” on these positively adorable pore stips fom Starface. Starface Hello Kitty ® Lift Off Pore Strips ($10) are the brand’s second collab with Sanrio, and combine all the oddly-satisfying pore-unclogging goodness you’ve come to expect from pore strips with the magic of Hello Kitty. Enough said.
A Celeb-Backed Beauty Line
Model-turned-entrepreneur Rosie Huntington-Whiteley takes on a new role as founder and creative director of Rose Inc, a clean, sustainably designed, 100 percent vegan collection of beauty essentials. The brand is officially launching with The Modern Essentials Collection (from $24) which includes a hydrating concealer (available in 20 shades), high-pigment lip crayons, hair growth-enhancing brow gel, multipurpose cream colour pots, a brightness-boosting serum and an exfoliating toner. Add the whole lot to your wishlist.
A Restorative Skin Duo
StriVectin hits it out of the park with its two latest launches: Advanced Retinol Nightly Renewal Moisturizer ($129) and Super-B Barrier Strengthening Oil ($79). The moisturizer, which features two stabilized forms of retinol, is gentle enough for everyday use right from the get-go–no waiting period required. The oil, on the other hand, blends a prebiotic complex sourced from Auvergne’s hot springs with niacinamide to balance and heal the skin.
A Delightful Spritz
Encased in a charming lipstick-shaped vessel, the latest flanker in Cacharel’s Yes I Am series of fragrances has arrived. Say hello to Yes I Am Glorious ($85), a milky floral fragrance that swirls notes of sweet peach nectar with zesty mandarin, fresh magnolia, soft sandalwood, and dreamy white blooms. Hey, if it’s good enough for Shay Mitchell, it’s good enough for us.
A Plumping Face Oil
When mega-influencer Marianna Hewitt’s Summer Fridays drops a new product, you know it’s a good month. Enter Heavenly Sixteen All-In-One Face Oil ($70), a skin-loving face oil that blends a grand total of 16 (!) plant-based extracts to deliver glowing skin. Think soothing hemp, cranberry and olive; plumping sea buckthorn, tsubaki and blackcurrant, and protective rosehip, prickly pear and cucumber oils. It’s practically a multivitamin for your face.
A Refillable Primer
Vancouver-based clean beauty pioneer Rose-Marie Swift has done it again with the launch of RMS“Re” Evolve Radiance Locking Primer, a refillable makeup-gripping primer featuring skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid, squalane and protective eggplant fruit extract. Swift had this to say: “The weightless gel is unlike any primer I’ve ever used–it creates a barrier on the skin that preserves hydration while locking in makeup. I’m obsessed, and I hope you will be too.” Indeed we are.
A Skin-Quenching Lotion
If you’re a fan of Belif’s OG Aloe Aqua Bomb, make room on your shelf for Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb Aloe ($50). Now with an improved formula that’s even more soothing and refreshing than its predecessor, this gel-cream lotion is the perfect antidote to hot summer days. Stick it in your fridge to amp up the cooling factor.
A Custom Mask Kit
Toronto-based brand True and You has just launched–and it’s the build-your-own skincare line of our dreams. Designed with zero plastic packaging and made to suit all skin types, genders and age groups, each product is customizable according to your skin goals. Take, for instance, Your Custom Mask ($65), which starts off with a detoxifying base of Canadian glacial clay. Head to the True and You website and take the skin quiz to select two mix-in boosters to add to your mask, and voila: a treatment catered to your skin goals.
A Zit-Zapping Cleanser
Seeking the exfoliating benefits of a peel but worried your sensitive skin might react? Lean into Bioderma Sébium Active Foaming Gel ($20), an ultra-gentle, biodegradable cleanser that deeply cleanses the skin with small yet mighty concentrations of active ingredients like glycolic acid, salicylic acid and purifying zinc gluconate. It’s a peel without the pressure.
