THE BOYS AND GIRLS AT CHANEL
Katherine Flemming, health and beauty editor: I like half of these (the girls, obvs) with the headbands and slicked winged eyeliner, but I have such a hard time with that heavy smoky shadow blended into the brows.
Victoria DiPlacido, assistant beauty editor: I love the idea of a dual beauty look: feminine girls and masucline boys. But leave it to Chanel to default to a (gorgeous) smoky eye.
STICKY LASHES AT GIAMBATTISTA VALLI
KF: Oooh la lashes. I loved everything about the brushed up brows and possibly overdone mascara, because it’s a subtle Twiggy reference without going overboard.
VDP: I love a focus on lashes: simple, pretty, easy.
SLICKED LIDS AT BALENCIAGA
KF: Glossy eyelids and hair? Seems like a winning combination. That’s until you see the models from their profile and there’s boyish sidebar action. #ontothenextone
VDP: Ditto.
DENTAL-FLOSS-THIN TWISTS AT VALENTINO
KF: Though the hair was likely forgotten by Zoolander 2 hijinks, this was one of the most standout hair looks for me. So pretty, so femme, so classically Valentino.
VDP: Zoolander was great, don’t get me wrong, but it distracted us from this killer hair. Let’s pause to observe now, shall we?
