The hair, makeup and general bedazzlement at Givenchy

Katherine Flemming, health & beauty editor: It’s certainly an arresting look, but as for makeup artistry? A dab of concealer and a couple of jewels doesn’t really do it for me.

Victoria DiPlacido, assistant beauty editor: Of all of the shows in all the cities at fall 2015 fashion month, this look by makeup artist Pat McGrath and hairstylist Luigi Murenu was one of the most striking OTT looks.

KF: I loved everything about this look, but maybe that’s because it harks back to my obsession with white eyeshadow in grade 9. Regardless, it’s an eye-opening look.

VDP: If you loved the beauty look in Black Swan, now’s your chance to bring it back.

The nails at Nina Ricci

KF: Nothing trumps a classic, burgundy nail. I love it paired with a super bare, glowing face.

VDP: After seeing so many (beautiful) jewel tones and graphic designs at NYFW, it’s great to get a simple but striking dark nail in the mix.

KF: Finally, red lips make a splash in the city of light after dominating the other cities. Be still my heart.

VDP: Was this the only red lip at Paris? It certainly felt like it. After a season of lip balm, a classic red is refreshing.
