NYFW Fall 2014 Beauty: Luxurious ease at Victoria Beckham
At this morning’s Fall 2014 presentation,
Victoria Beckham‘s beauty message was crystal clear: simple and undone. "It’s an ultra rich idea of nothing really bothered," says hairstylist Guido, who created another ponytail for Beckham this season. "The clothes are super luxurious so any kind of ease I can bring into it will add to the luxury of Victoria’s clothes. She’s found her voice in a
beauty sense now after a few seasons about what her idea of beauty is. And her look herself has changed—it’s much easier, it’s much more brought down. I think she’s really found her voice in her aesthetic, which is key for a designer."
Guido recommends a 1.5 inch curling iron to get a "slight bend" in the hair, and a few blasts of Redken’s Pillow Proof Blow Dry Two Day Extender & Oil Absorbing Dry Shampoo. Makeup artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath helped execute Beckham’s vision by sticking to the designer’s signature
flawless skin. "The look is very natural, " she said. "We’re working with perfect skin,
groomed eyebrows, nude eye, lip balm on the lips. The skin should radiate. Right before the girls go down the runway, we are going to rub their cheeks." The prettiest part?
Mascara was applied only to the root of the lashes. Though it might seem almost pointless, the effect was quite spectacular, in the most nonchalant of ways—so very VB.
