NYFW Beauty: Ditch that hair elastic already

Perhaps influenced by all of the intricate glamour at Couture Fashion Week, there’s been a slight shift in the accoutrement department backstage this season. Some of our faves so far: The black leather ties at Tanya Taylor quite literally tied the sleek ponytail look together. Somehow, this looks so much better than when I use a twist-tie that I’ve excavated from my desk drawer. Hmm.
At Suno, the infamous Odile Gilbert fashioned a looped ponytail with a very intricate barrette and finished the look with plenty of shine. Keep reading to see where else the trend appeared.
At Derek Lam, Orlando Pita created (with his bare hands, people) a leather accessory to secure his simple, ’70s inspired
ponytail. Pita was inspired by the way women in his high school wore their hair.
