Montreal Fashion Week S/S12 Backstage Beauty Report: Mulcair
Girlie and ethereal — the look at
Mulcair had us swooning. The eyes simply twinkled, thanks to Cover Girl Smokey Shadow Blast in beige used to highlight the inner corner and Gold Sizzle eyeshadow adding a small explosion of colour (with the shadow extending up the bridge of the nose and slightly extending underneath the eye as well. Extra sparkle was added with some gold glitter from M.A.C (make it stick with some professional base makeup, or a bit of gloss can do in a pinch, says Amelie Ducharme, Creative Director for Makeup at MFW).
Cheeks were flirty, with TruBlend 4 applied to the apple of cheeks, and on the
lips, Amelie chose Lip Perfection 390 focused on the centre of the lips (she blended it well with balm to reduce the frostiness of the shade).
Tip: Eyes too sparkly for your taste? Amelie suggests using more beige cream shadow and less gold eyeshadow, and keep the highlight more focused on the inner corner rather than extending it so wide. Hair was given surfer-girl chic make-under, which Denis Binet achieved through applying plenty of mouse a quick brush and then he let it sit for 30 minutes (if he were to work on the hair immediately, the hair would get too big). Once dry a half hour later, he brush it under to give it a bit of teased volume,
carefree surf locks.
