Today it was announced that L’Oreal Paris will honour ten Canadian humanitarians as recipients of its second annual Canadian Women of Worth award program. As an extension of the brand’s signature tagline and belief that every woman is “worth it,” L’Oreal Paris will award ten women who have given back to their community. Each honouree will receive $10,000 as well as marketing support to increase visibility for her charity.  

“We are astounded by our 2018 Canadian Women of Worth Honourees and the humanitarian work they champion to help so many people including refugees, homeless, food insecure, cancer patients and autistic adults,” said Milan Mladjenovic, general manager for L’Oréal Paris Canada in a statement. 

On International Woman’s Day (March 8th), L’Oréal Paris will host the awards gala in Toronto; actress and L’Oréal Paris spokesperson Helen Mirren will be in attendance. (Blake Lively was last year’s celebrity guest.) 

Based on the results of a public vote, one of the ten honourees will be selected as the National Honouree and will be awarded an additional $10,000 grant for her non-profit cause at the gala.

Voting is open now until March 4th at womenofworth.ca. 

The 2018 Women of Worth honourees include Carol Todd (The Amanda Todd Legacy), Chantal Bernatchez (Association Vergers d’Afrique), Dr. Jane Vermeulen (Vets for Pets), Hazar Mahayni (Syrian Kids Foundation), Lise-Marie Gravel (Autism Without Limits), Lourdes Juan (The Leftovers Foundation), Maike van Niekerk (Katrin’s Karepackage), Stachen Frederick (BrAIDS for AIDS), Subhra Mukherjeen (Sai Dham Food Bank), and Victoria Plouffe (Beads of Courage).
