Quo Beauty, Shoppers Drug Mart’s in-house cosmetics brand, has re-launched with over 1,000 re-formulated cruelty-free beauty products, including hair tools and appliances, travel accessories, sunglasses, bath accessories and of course, colour cosmetics.

To kick off the revamp, the pharmacy retailer collaborated with celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo – who counts Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez and Emily Ratajkowskias clients – to create a series of looks for the new campaign.

“I’m so impressed with the new Quo Beauty range because the products are both inspirational and easy-to-use,” said Vanngo in a statement. “I loved creating a wide range of unique looks with the products – looks that range from beautiful and natural to dramatic and colourful, and everything in between.”

Vanngo – who has garnered a massive Instagram following of 2 million users, thanks to his playful yet distinctly refined technique – knows a thing or two about working with colour. “I know when people formulate vegan products [nailing] the colour is really tricky, especially blues, greens and purples,” he told us via Zoom. “They did a great job with the colour formulation. I mean, I am obsessed.”

Some of his top picks from the launch include the Velvet Kiss Liquid Lipstick ($14) (“What’s great about this liquid lipstick is it’s hydrating but it’s also stain-proof – if you wear a mask on the top it doesn’t come off at all.”) and the Featherweight Cream Blush ($14) (“The texture is amazing!”).

Vanngo created a multitude of ultra-vibrant looks to reflect the cheery feel of the new campaign, but if colour isn’t your thing, no sweat. In collaboration with the brand, Vanngo created an in-depth YouTube tutorial on how to create one of his signature looks – the ever-popular fox-eye look – using only products from the Quo Beauty range.
