Elle Fanning’s new gig as the face of L’Oréal Paris was just announced today, ahead of the 70th Cannes Film Festival which kicks off on Wednesday. The event will be the 19-year-old’s first with the beauty brand, who has been an official sponsor for the last 20 years (expect to see a strong showing of L’Oréal’s actress ambassadors, Susan Sarandon, Naomi Watts, Helen Mirren, Eva Longoria, Blake Lively, Andie MacDowell and Julianne Moore, at the festival for this major anniversary). “Elle is a natural choice for the brand as it highlights our love for beauty and cinema,” says Pierre Emmanuel Angeloglou, global president for L’Oréal Paris of the decision to hire the Maleficent actress. “She is the face for the new generation as an accomplished actress, but also an inspiring canvas for makeup artists. I am sure that we will have a fruitful collaboration together.”

“Excited does not even begin to describe how thrilled I am to be a L’Oreal Paris spokesperson,” said Fanning in a press release. “L’Oreal always strikes the perfect balance between creativity and beauty. Instagram plus L’Oreal, oh what fun we are going to have!”

“I can finally let you all in on the mega surprise,” she added in an Instagram post. “I am officially a #lorealista! Thank you @lorealmakeup for welcoming me into your empowering and fabulous family! I am beyond proud to represent a company that celebrates women! Because we are all #worthit.”
