Luxury-beauty collectors, hold thy breath. Christian Louboutin has expanded his opulent beauty collection beyond lips, nails and fragrance to include a series of weighty mascaras and shadows. “You have the bedroom eyes, sleepy eyes and intense eyes,” says the well-soled designer.

The star products will provoke and shock: the burgundy mascara and cherry-red liquid liner, which were, unsurprisingly, inspired by his glossy soles. “I always thought about what would be l’oeil de braise or l’oeil de feu [nearest translation: the burning intensity in a woman’s eye] and for me that is evoked by this red.”
