Everyone’s eyes are on Paris for one of the most fashionable and star-studded Olympic Games to date. Athletes and celebrity spectators alike have turned the City of Lights into their own personal catwalk. Which should come as no surprise since Paris is home to the lion’s share of the world’s most iconic luxury fashion brands, and in recent years French women have become synonymous with elegant and understated beauty.

Celine, which was founded in Paris in 1945 and has been headquartered in the 2nd arrondissement of the city ever since, is looking to celebrate the legacy of Parisian women with its latest venture: Celine Beauté.

The cosmetics line is a first for the maison and was created by Hedi Slimane as a continuation of the haute parfumerie collection launched in 2019. Slimane hopes to capture the allure and femininity of the quintessential Parisian woman through the collections monogrammed gold sheath packaging and sensuous satin finishes, especially that of the timeless rouge lip.

The inaugural red lipstick, ‘Rouge Triomphe,’ will hit shelves in October along with “a collection of high-end luxury objects,” jewellery and precious leathers,” according to the recent announcement from the Celine Beauté team.

The bulk of the collection, comprised of mascaras, eyeliners, blush, loose powder and lip balm, sadly won’t be available until 2025. So eager beauty collectors will have to wait to get their hands on all 15 planned lip colours, including “la peau nue” a classic nude shade.

The intention is to reveal a new collection designed by Slimane each season with each carefully considered piece adding to the adornment of a vanity as well as your daily beauty ritual.
