Byredo is getting into the makeup game. Today, the luxury brand, known for their cult fragrances (Gypsy Water, Bal d’Afrique) announced a makeup line launching in October 2020 in collaboration with makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench, who previously worked on YSL Beauté and, more recently, Tom Ford beauty.
There are scant details about what we can expect from the line. All the brand has said about the collection thus far is that the collection will be “of beautifully crafted and curated makeup artefacts, which marries the Byredo excellence with colour exploration.”
“Byredo’s game-changing approach to the world of fragrance is reflected in its iconoclastic and instinctive approach to beauty,” they add. “Here, gender and identity boundaries are once more ignored from the beginning with products presented that are distinctly idiosyncratic and very much part of the Byredo world-view.”
Also released was a single campaign image by London-based artist and animator Jesse Kanda, known for his surrealist 3D photo and video animations, which hints at the direction the makeup collection will take. Stay tuned for more details.
