The holiday soiree season is quickly approaching and for many of us, this will be the first holiday season where we will have the privilege of gathering with friends and loved ones in IRL. Naturally, you’re going to want to make your best impression with your makeup look. Luckily, we’ve rounded up some breathtaking celeb-inspired looks to help you do that.
Chloe Bailey’s Diamond Lined Lids
Eye decals have exploded onto the beauty circuit, thanks to shows like Euphoria, and this silver sensation worn by Chloe Bailey reveals just how versatile they are. Also, what’s more Not to mention that metallic shimmer is very reminiscent of the holidays.
GET THE LOOK:
For an airbrushed base like Chloe’s, the Dior’s Forever Matte Skincare Foundation in your desired shade is sure to get the job done. This foundation is infused with rose extract to help smooth out the skin’s texture and even iris extract to protect from oxidation. Set your skin with the Huda Beauty Easy Loose Baking and Setting Powder, for filter-in-real life skin.
To recreate Chloe’s enviable pout a warm toned liner like M.A.C’s Chestnut lip liner will help to give the illusion of a more full lip. Try dabbing a high shine pink gloss to the centre of your lips like Merit’s Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil and blending it out to the outer corners for even distribution.
Now for the main celestial attraction. No need to become a master at creating intricate designs and shapes PaintLab Eye Stickers make it as easy as peel and place. Place the stickers right beneath the brow bone on each eye. Celebrity makeup artist
Patrick Ta’s Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush is the perfect vibrant blush to finish off the look. The cream formula gives skin a subtle glow while the powder formula holds it in place and adds a pop of complimentary colour.
Sydney Sweeney’s Bold Red Look
Sydney’s chic makeup is perfect for any holiday party—elegant yet simple, but still totally fun.
GET THE LOOK:
For Sydney’s old Hollywood look, creating a truly flawless red lip is a multi step process. Begin by lining the lips with a deeply pigmented liner like Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in the shade Kiss n’ Tell. Don’t be afraid to use a small brush to blend it towards the centre of your lips to soften up the lines. Finish off by applying Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Red Carpet Red.
Add a little shimmer to the eyes by lining your lids with Stila’s Stay All Day Artistix Graphic Liner in Disco. The creamy formula allows for a vibrant sparkle and precise application.
To give your cheeks that just-pinched look like Sydney’s, apply Chanel’s Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Quintessence to the apples of your cheeks for an effortless, barely there hue.
Maitreyi Ramakrishan’s Elevated Smokey Eye
If there’s one beauty truth that remains, it’s that a well executed smokey eye will always be an immaculate party look and Maitreyi’s take on the festive staple during TIFF is truly breathtaking.
GET THE LOOK:
Begin by brushing through your brows with a spooly and then use Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Waterproof Eyebrow Definer in the shade closest to your hair to lightly fill in your brows and add dimension.
Begin creating your smokey eye by lining your lids and bringing the liner out into a wing, then using a pointed brush blend the liner into your lower lash line. Using an eyeshadow like the shade Truffle from R.E.M. Beauty’s Principessa Palette instead of a traditional liner will make the blending process so much easier.
To make the most of this already dramatic eye, try popping on your favourite pair of the fake eyelashes Ardell Textureyes gives you the perfect balance between natural and glam. The lashes are made of actual premium human hair and have a thick lashband to make application a breeze.
Jhene Aiko’s Diamond Studded Eye Look
Jhene Aiko took to Instagram to flaunt her stunning glam for a performance at The Greek Theatre. Albeit perfect for the stage, this look would fit in just as well at a New Years Eve bash.
GET THE LOOK:
To replicate Jhene’s soft glow, apply Nars’ Rising Star Cheek Palette on the apples of your cheek. The palette provides a beautiful combination of a radiant, yet mattifying finish to give your cheeks a your-skin but better appearance.
Now for the fun part. For the eyes place a skin-tone shadow on the lid, to give them a uniformed appearance. Jhene’s eyes have been lined using the “reverse cat eye technique”. Cover Girl’s Exhibitionist Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner has a super soft flex-tip that lets the liner glide on easily and provides precise application. For gems, the Face Gems from Half Magic are perfect for a night out. To actually get them to stick to on and around your eyes, using a lash glue like Duo Professional Brush On Adhesive Clear is your best bet. Don’t be afraid to play around with the gem placement, shape and quantity of your gems, this look is all about fun – so have some!
Maude Apatow’s Elegant Glam Look
If there’s one thing we can count Maude Apatow to deliver on it’s an elegant glam look and the one she modelled for a Cartier event is the perfect example of what we mean.
GET THE LOOK:
To mimic Maude’s all around glow, begin by applying a blush and highlighter combo like the Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Beautifying Blush and Highlighter Palette now available in both fair/medium and medium deep shades. Be generous with the application here, placing product on your cheeks, temples and even the cupid’s bow if you so feel inclined.
Add a holiday soiree ready for pop of colour to your eyes with the Gilded Glamour Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Wardrobe palettes by Tarte. This duo contains 36 matte and shimmer, amazonian clay infused shades that are highly pigmented and long wearing. Begin by working the deeper, more mattifying shades into the crease of your eyes and add shimmer on top to complete the look.
Tie the entire look together with a peach hued lip. Kind Words Matte Lipstick by Rare Beauty lipstick provides intense pigment and a mattifying finish that leaves lips looking polished and supple.
