A celeb-backed brand
Waves of excitement rippled across the internet when Harry Styles announced that he was launching his own beauty line, Pleasing. The brand debuted with three highly covetable products: a range of nail polishes (available in four different shades) cased in ethereal bottles; the Pearlescent Illuminating Serum, which is made with vitamin B5, mica, antioxidants and amino acids to impart a subtle glow; and the Pleasing Pen, a double-sided stick with a reviving eye gel and soothing lip treatment, both delivered via a cooling roller. Definitely add these to your shopping cart — if you can find them in stock, that is.
A multi-purpose SPF
You’ll never skip on the SPF again thanks to Ilia’s new-to-Canada Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40, which already has a cult following in the U.S. Available in 30 shades, this light-coverage tinted formula contains ultra hydrating squalane, skin-plumping hyaluronic acid and smoothing niacinamide all while protecting skin from UVA, UVB, UVC, blue light and infrared rays. Something to keep in mind: when you apply the serum to your skin, it will appear lighter for about a minute before drying down to its true tone.

For holiday party-ready hair
Heading out this holiday season? You’ll want Amika’s Top Gloss Shine Spray to help you get ready. Made with fatty acid-rich sea buckthorn, the non-greasy spray combats frizz, tamps down flyaways and leaves behind a glossy high-shine finish that will last you through a night of party hopping. It also has UV filters that protects colour from sun exposure.
Price: $33
A go-to serum
Feeling daunted by retinol? Why not try Ren Skincare’s new Bio Retinoid Youth Serum instead? Infused with bidens pilosa, a gentler, plant-derived alternative to retinol, the lightweight serum targets fine lines and improves visible roughness and elasticity. There are also ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier, while niacinamide works to brighten and even. People with sensitive skin will love this.
Price: $97
For winter-ready hands
When Canadian brand Paume launched its luxe, moisturizing hand sanitizer last year, Amy Welsman wanted to create a product that would cleanse without being harsh on skin. Now, she’s expanding her mission with the new Probiotic Hand Balm, a thick, emollient-rich hydrator that also improves skin tone, elasticity and texture. Scented with fragrant notes of cedar, lavender, citrus and rosemary, it’s fast-absorbing, too, so you’ll be able to pick up your phone after applying without slipping and sliding.

To take your routine to the next step
Collagen is the protein that keeps your skin strong and elastic, and it naturally starts to break down as you age. Dose & Co. (a fave of Khloe Kardashian) makes powdered supplements that provide a high-dose of collagen, purporting to strengthen hair, nails and skin—and recently launched in Canada! Choose from four different products (from $40) that easily blend into coffee, tea or smoothies: unflavoured Pure Collagen Peptides, Marine Collagen, Collagen Creamer (in vanilla and caramel flavours) and the Non-Dairy Collagen Creamer (in vanilla). Happy sipping.
A hair-(and scalp-)saving serum
Healthy hair starts at your scalp. Luckily, Kérastase’s new Chronologiste Serum Universel looks after both. Hydrating hyaluronic acid, revitalizing abyssine and damage-preventing vitamin E power this luxurious serum, which comforts your scalp, boosts shine and plumps hair roots for a fuller look. It doesn’t stop there: The leave-in product also protects against heat and pollution, so it never takes a break.
Price: $250
A fun collab
Casa de Papel (a.k.a. Money Heist) fans may be sad to say goodbye to Netflix’s thrilling crime drama, but you’ll be able to keep it in your hearts with NYX’s cool themed makeup collection. Inspired by the show and its characters, the line includes two lipsticks in bold reds, four eyeliner sticks, gold and rose gold highlighter bars, and two different palettes — you don’t need to pull of a highly complex felony to get your hands on any of it.
Price: From $14
Your new fave falsies
In search of fuller lashes without the OTT glam that often comes with a set of falsies? Look no further than Ardell’s Naked Lashes. Available in strip-lash and magnetic styles (so they’re easy to apply), the collection enhances your own volume and length. Plus, the bands are designed with comfort in mind, so you won’t even feel like you’re wearing them.

A powerful all-in-one
Ready to be impressed? Bella Aura’s new-to-Canada Rapid Repair Clarifying Elixir clarifies, soothes, hydrates, repairs, rebalances, restores, revives and replenishes skin thanks to potent ingredients like water-retaining moss and moisture-locking lichen. As if that wasn’t enough, the brand claims the serum can also fade and heal pimples in just 24 hours. Sign us up.

For an easy gift
Just in time for the holidays, Montreal fashion brand Vallier has teamed up with Canadian therapeutic body care company Apprenti Ôr’ganik for three new products. Unwind with a 100-percent natural candle, which carries woodsy scents of cardamom, cedarwood and cedarleaf, or try the soothing body lotion (made with marine algae extract and aloe vera) or dual-purpose hand and body wash, which contains hemp seed oil and exfoliating fine pumice grains. Give them as a gift, or treat yourself.

Nostalgic acne patches
Take a trip back to Sesame Street (and your childhood) with Starface’s newest collab. The brand’s cult-favourite pimple patches and pore strips have been redesigned in homage to legendary muppets Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. They each get their own bundle that includes a character case filled with 32 hydrocolloid patches (plus 32 more patches to refill) and eight pore strips.

A new kind of period product
B.C. brand Joni was founded in an effort to create more sustainable period products for everyone. Its next step is an organic cotton applicator-free tampon. It’s exactly as it sounds: instead of using a traditional applicator, you’ll just need your finger to insert the tampon, which is wrapped in biodegradable packaging. Find it in regular, super and super plus, depending on your flow.

A dreamy refillable
We don’t need to sing the praises of Charlotte Tilbury’s Charlotte’s Magic Cream — it’s already beloved around the world for a reason, after all. But it’s just gotten even better with a limited-edition refill set. The kit includes a full-size Magic Cream in a stunning jewel-esque glass jar, plus a refill capsule to pop in when you’re done. It’s something you’ll keep forever.

One-of-a-kind skincare
If you treat your skincare regimen like the ultimate self-care ritual, you’ll want to consider Giorgio Armani’s Crema Nera Reviscentalis Meta Concentrate. The ultra luxe serum harnesses metabolite science (basically, skin cells’ version of a metabolism) to refine skin texture and lessen the appearance of wrinkles. Skin will look revived and more radiant. It’s like nothing you’ve ever used.
Price: $425
For reliable hand care
‘Tis the season to be washing your hands — even more than usual, that is. Keep clean and protect your skin with CND Scentsations’ reformulated hand washes and lotions. Formulated with glycerin, the hand washes aren’t drying, even after multiple uses, and are available in five scents, from limited-edition strawberry and prosecco to floral peach and rose. Follow that up with one of six lotions, which can also be applied to dry patches anywhere on your body.

Think of this set as your new travel companion.
