After rendering her fans officially shooketh back in May by bleaching her signature slime green and black mullet a Marilyn Monroe-esque platinum blonde, Billie Eilish has changed up her hair once again. Unsurprisingly, we’re completely on board.

Known for her Gucci grunge style, bucket hats and neon hair, the ‘Lost Cause’ singer debuted a totally new look earlier this year, departing from the more androgynous style she’d become known for. Eilish traded in her go-to baggy co-ords for a more traditionally feminine look for the launch of her latest album ‘Happier Than Ever’, working icy white blonde hair with a retro seventies style fringe.

Now, the 19-year-old has switched things up again, cutting off her shoulder length blonde hair into a choppy bleached bob.

Eilish took to Instagram to reveal her new shorter look to her 89.6 million followers, posting a video of her shaggy bob alongside the caption, ‘gone’.

The multiple Grammy award-winner treated her followers to even more bob content, with candid selfies posted on her stories as well as a sneak peek of the inspiration behind her new look – her mum.

Eilish posted a series of black and white portraits of her mum sporting a similar pale blonde bob with cropped fringe and acknowledged her hair inspo with the caption ‘like my mama’.

After explaining that she wore a ‘Halloween wig’ for weeks earlier this year while she transitioned her hair from neon green and jet black to creamy blonde, Eilish continued by saying that despite what people might expect, after bleaching her natural hair it was actually in great condition. ‘Honestly so healthy and I wasn’t expecting that at all. It’s actually healthier than it’s been in a longggggggg time.’

But, could it be that even Billie’s blonde can’t defy the bleach breakage? A bob cut would be the best way to preserve the health of the rest of her hair, whilst also looking seriously cute. Breakage or no, we’re feeling Billie’s new bob.
