After walking in the L’Oréal Paris runway show at Paris Fashion Week as well as being featured in the L’Oréal Paris x Balmain Paris collection, French model Cindy Bruna has been named as the brand’s newest spokesperson.

“I’m so proud to join L’Oréal Paris as a new spokesperson, the iconic French brand that celebrates all women and infinite ways to be beautiful. We’re all absolutely worth it – yet we don’t always believe it,” said Bruna in press release. “By standing up for our rights and our dreams, we have the power to change our lives, and also those of others.”

Bruna made fashion history as the first model of colour to exclusively walk the Calvin Klein runway in 2012. The Congolese/Italian model is also an activist; she works with Solidarite Femmes, a French organization that supports survivors of domestic violence. “I have always been passionate about advocating for survivors of domestic violence,” says Bruna. “I think this issue affects us all and I hope we can open more conversations around it.”

Bruna has also advocated for inclusion within modelling, especially for Black women who encounter hair discrimination at shoots and shows. “As a biracial woman, I had that time in my life when I did not know where I belong. I thought I had to pick a side, when the reality was that I am both and I have come to fully embrace it,” says Bruna. ” That is my strength, my beauty, my power.”

In partnership with L’Oréal, Bruna will be an advocate for their Stand Up program, which teaches people how to intervene when encountering or witnessing sexual harassment in public. She will be appearing in various product campaigns, including the upcoming Casting Crème Gloss campaign launching later this year.
