If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been swooning over
Kate Middleton‘s envious, glossy long hair. Sigh. Granted she has a
hairstylist with her on her first official Canadian tour to help keep her tresses in picture-perfect form (be it in a ponytail, in waves, or in an updo), we still think her signature blow-out (or Chelsea hair as
ELLE UK dubs it) is going to become a new favourite request in hair salons. Her
hairstyles change only slightly and she’s not that adventurous, but hey, if it works for her and looks great, I say keep doing it. But in case you can’t get to
your hairdresser stat to copy her look, I asked
Daniel Naumovski, stylist/co-owner of
Taz Hair in Toronto his tips for getting princess-worthy locks.

Kate’s long, flowing waves:
1. Apply a full-body mousse before blow-drying hair.
2. Set dried hair in hot rollers (the size depends on how wavy or curly you want your locks). Allow the rollers to cool before removing. Or you can use a 1-inch curling iron to create curls.
3. Using a natural bristle brush, brush through the curls to create soft waves.
4. Apply a gloss serum to hair for sheen and smooth out fly-aways with
anti-frizz hairspray.
