Angel face

Play innocent with touches of pearly shimmer.

"A dewy complexion is what makes this spring look so captivating," says Lora Spiga, regional trainer for
Lancôme Canada. Start with a hydrating serum, then smooth on tinted moisturizer. Apply concealer where needed. Next, illuminate the skin with a neutral-coloured shimmery eyeshadow. "Using your fingertips, pat the shadow along the cheekbones and temples to just above the ends of the eyebrows," says Spiga. Do the same for the eyes, from lash line to brow, and then add a pop of colour in the crease. "A flirty baby blue or pink works best." Finish with two coats of black mascara, a swirl of cream blush on the apples of the cheeks and a sheer, bright gloss on the lips.

City slicker

Show some attitude with gelled-back tresses.

"Confidence is what carries this look," says Dylan K. Hanson, celebrity hairstylist for Herbal Essences. "It combines feminine softness with a masculine, slicked-back style." To get the look, wash and towel-dry the hair. Add mousse, from the roots to the tips, for hold, and blow-dry the hair straight using a round brush. Apply a strong-hold gel or mousse to the front section of the hair only, spreading it from ear to ear and extending back as far as the crown. Then, with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, sweep the front section back and use a hairdryer on a low setting to set the product. "Spritz hairspray on the front for extra hold," says Hanson, "but keep the hair at the back soft and swingy."
