The Clotheshorse
Your must-shop-at list wouldn't be complete without letting this dear vintage and used clothing creature in! The Clotheshorse, run by well known local gal Merle Bryant, has really filled a niche with the shopping girl in Halifax. You can never be too sure what Merle will hang in her upstairs lair which overlooks a popular bar section of the street. Somedays you'll score a Donna Karan shawl coat that would have cost $1,000, or you could walk away with a Ralph Lauren sweater for $20. Don't forget the Prada bag for $40! Vintage also rules the roost with the odd couture gown rearing its head around the holidays! Most of the other stuff is last season, or maybe the year before, but who cares when it's a classic line? A must stop and shop on any Halifax clothing store tour!
