Q: I have been madly in love with a young man for several years, but I waited until this year to tell him how I feel. He's 21 now, and I'm 29. We've gone on a few dates, and our relationship is now physical. I sense that he likes me, but it feels as if I'm doing all the chasing. He works as a cowboy (but not the womanizing, flashy rodeo kind) and goes out of town a lot. He has never had a real relationship with anyone and doesn't seem ready to settle down, but I feel that I don't have a lot of time to spare. What should I do? -- Restless
Dear Restless: You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink! You and he are not on the same page. Marriage? Forget about it. I'm sure that he likes you, but that's as far as it goes. I'm sorry to be so blunt with you, but you are fixated on him and that's not healthy. Be open to meeting other guys and I guarantee that someone new will come along. He will be wearing a check shirt and have lovely, dark curly hair, and he'll make you laugh. You'll be enchanted, and you'll soon forget all about your cowboy. Be patient: Before the end of the snowy winter, you'll be smiling from ear to ear.
