The most important accessory you’ll ever wear, your glasses (and sunnies!) should offer both design-minded style and complete affordability. And that’s exactly what Specsavers, the destination for high-quality style-forward eyewear and expert clinical eyecare, is all about. Already a go-to source for of-the-moment styles across Europe, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, Specsavers launched in Canada in 2021.

Among Specsavers’ most coveted collabs is one with Alex Perry, an Australian fashion designer and TV presenter who’s revered for his red-carpet-worthy womenswear collections (Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and Hailey Bieber are all fans.) The long-time Specsavers collaborator takes an approach to designing eyewear that’s not dissimilar to the one he takes with his ready-to-wear pieces. “I think the principles are the same whether you’re designing glasses, clothing or interiors,” he says. The throughline for all his Specsavers designs is a sense of sharpness and timelessness, resulting in the kinds of frames that will still feel contemporary 10 years on.

To celebrate this iconic partnership, ELLE Canada hosted an exclusive party for Specsavers x Alex Perry on the rooftop of Toronto’s Hotel X. Guests were treated to epic cityscape views, the chance to create their own ELLE Canada cover sporting Specsavers x Alex Perry sunnies in a portrait studio and personalized styling sessions with Perry himself. His tried-and-tested advice for finding the perfect frames? “Try on as many pairs as you can,” he says. “Take one off the shelf, put it on, take a selfie, then repeat. When you’re done, go grab a coffee and take a look at your pictures. It helps give you an objective view of yourself.”

Accessibility for all is at the centre of the brand’s purpose: with hundreds of frame options—starting at $69 for a complete pair including standard, single-vision lenses and scratch-resistant treatment—there really is a frame for everyone. Another standout feature from Specsavers is its unique designer collaborations, with a roster that includes adidas, Vivienne Westwood, legendary U.K. retailer Liberty and so many others. Now that there are more than 80 stores across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia scoring some stylish (and affordable) eyewear is easy.
