Adwoa Aboah won the title of Model of the Year, over fellow nominees Winnie Harlow, Kaia Gerber, Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid (who won last year).

The Designer of the Year award  went to Raf Simons for Calvin Klein, beating Alessandro Michele for Gucci, Jonathan Anderson for Loewe, Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior, and Phoebe Philo for Celine.  

 

The award for Best Urban Luxe Brand was given to Virgil Abloh’s Off-White, beating out Fenty x Puma, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Supreme, and Vetements.

The top British womenswear designer was J W Anderson, and the award for British Emerging Talent was given to Michael Halpern for his label Halpern (he designed the sequinned number Aboah wore to the awards).

Maria Grazia Chiuri, who has been hailed for her feminist impact on the industry, accepted the Swarovski Award for Positive Change. The award recognizes those who “have made a positive impact on society, the environment or both.” As Christian Dior’s very first female creative director, she was a fitting recipient of the award, given for the first time last year to Franca Sozzani.

 

 

Pat McGrath won the Isabella Blow Award for fashion creator, for her contributions and influence in the fashion and beauty industries.

 

 

Donatella Versace was hailed as this year’s style icon.
