The fashion trend that’s poised to take 2016 by storm is inspired by…a lampshade? Allow us to explain: lampshading is accomplished by wearing over-the-knee boots with an oversized top and a short bottom (with the effect of not wearing a bottom at all) to look like – you guessed it – a lampshade. The look exposes the middle portion of the thigh, making it risqué enough to attract such adapters as Kate Moss and Kourtney Kardashian. Since lampshading’s two key ingredients (the thigh-high boot and the oversized sweatshirt) are at the height of their popularity, we don’t see this trend slowing down anytime soon.

In the spirit of home-décor-inspired fashion trends, we decided to come up with one of our own: “bookending” (when your hat and your shoes are the exact same colour, so they bookend your look) and we’re looking for participants.
