Canadian fashion boutique: Secret Location

Where: One Water St., Vancouver, British Columbia

Designer highlights: House of Holland, David Koma, Sage and Ivy, Anthony Vaccarello and Vivienne Westwood.

Why we love it: Two reasons. First, there’s the décor: a gorgeous collection of luxury fashion and home decor items (like
tailored blazers and coffee table books) featured on colourful shelves and Parisian-inspired stands. Second, the boutique boasts its own culinary tasting room where you can sit and enjoy a 10-course meal (think papaya salad, smoked salmon and
foie gras) served by executive chef Jefferson Alvarez. Talk about a fashion feast.

Canadian fashion boutique: Victoire

Where: 246 Dalhousie St., Ottawa, Ontario

Designer highlights: Betina Lou, C Comme Ça, Erin Templeton and Salvage.

Why we love it: When you walk into this lovely, eclectic boutique, you feel as though you’re perusing a vintage boudoir, complete with floral wallpaper and antique furniture. At Victoire, founding partners (and proud Canadian fashion supporters) Regine Paquette and Katie Frappier handpick each one of the hundreds of pieces, from affordable lace dresses to gold-flecked jewels to leather riding boots. What’s new? Victoire’s new
Toronto location, on hipster It street, Ossington Avenue.

Canadian fashion boutique: Jonathan and Olivia

Where: 49 Ossington Ave., Toronto, Ontario

Designer highlights: Rag & Bone, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Kenzo and Jeremy Laing.

Why we love it: Jonathan and Olivia founder Jackie O’Brien opened this Canadian style hot spot in 2008 (three years after launching the original store in Vancouver). Displaying row upon row of graphic tees, metallic dresses, and edgy accessories, this boutique is the living definition of high street fashion, and a destination for the city’s cool girls. (Side note: Jonathan and Olivia was selected by TopShop to introduce the British retailer to the Canadian fashion industry in 2010 so we could all dress like
Kate Middleton—or Kate Moss. Amazing.)

Canadian fashion boutique: Reborn

Where: 231 Rue Saint-Paul O., Montreal, Quebec

Designer highlights: Acne Studios, Robert Geller, Arielle de Pinto, Harakiri and Sophie Hulme.

Why we love it: Reborn has been one of Montreal’s destination stores since it opened in 2005. The décor is severe minimalism (only one piece of each item is on display), and the selection of classic (not trendy) designer labels is peerless. Plus, the service is great. If you need to invest in a perfect
leather jacket, make Reborn your go-to.

Designer highlights: Mason Boinet, Edith Miller, MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela, Saskia Diez and Ewanika.

Why we love it: Canadian designer Trish Ewanika is the creative mastermind behind this 15 year-old Toronto boutique. Ewanika supplements her eponymous modern ladylike collection (think striped jumpsuits) with a rarefied selection of local and international brands. (If you haven’t heard of jewellery designer Saskia Diez, check her out immediately.) It’s your one-stop shop for luxe silk scarves, boy-meets-girl suits and directional jewellery.

Why we love it: Nestled amongst the cobblestone streets of historic Old Montreal, Cahier d’Exercices is home to a carefully curated selection of
international designers and emerging brands. Plus, the open-concept industrial retail space (envisioned by Gilles Saucier for Saucier and Perrotte) is so posh that you’ll never want to leave.
