Kenzo x H&M

This year’s buzz-worthy H&M designer collab saw the Swedish retail giant team up with Kenzo. Full of bold prints and Kenzo’s much-loved vibrant aesthetic, the collection really packed a punch. Not to mention the giant runway party they staged in NYC to launch the line.

Fenty x Puma

RiRi definitely ruled the shoe game this year. The stylish singer focused a lot on her design career in 2016, and even won Footwear News’ Shoe of the Year for her popular creepers. The latest must have is the velvet version she just dropped.

Tommy x Gigi

Gigi had a very busy year, and was aptly named Model of the Year at the Fashion Awards. Her big fashion moment – aside from her countless covers and shoots – had to have been her design collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger, which she modelled herself. The show was a carnival spectacle dubbed the Tommy Pier, and the front row was filled with Gigi’s famous friends, including Taylor Swift.

Chanel Cruise Cuba

Chanel’s Cruise collection was a fashion favourite this year. Models walked and danced merrily down a cobbled street in Cuba, in clothes that were worthy of a fabulous tropical vacation. We also can’t stop thinking about the dreamy campaign they shot in St. Tropez…

Yeezy Season 4

Who wasn’t huddled over a cell phone or computer screen trying to get a glimpse of a Yeezy Season 4 live stream of the show in September? It was definitely memorable—perhaps not for the best reason. Models almost fainted from the heat and had to walk in wobbly, ill-constructed heels.

Ivy Park

Queen B unveiled a collection of activewear this year, and we instantly wanted it all. (Whether we actually wore it to work out isn’t important.)

Arizona Muse’s runway return

The unofficial “Runway Comeback of the Year” award goes to supermodel Arizona Muse, who returned after a hiatus to slay the runway at Lanvin, Prada and Isabel Marant. We also loved seeing Canadian newcomers Emm Arruda and Amber Rose Witcomb rock the runway this year.

Daya by Zendaya

With the help of her stylist Law Roach, style chameleon Zendaya set out to create a collection that was inclusive in both style and size. With every item ranging from sizes 0-22, the affordable collection is a major step forward.

Adidas Originals x Alexander Wang

During New York Fashion Week, Alexander Wang revealed a surprise collaboration with Adidas Originals. In perfect timing with fashion’s athleisure obsession, the lust-worthy collection was sold out of trucks straight after the show.

The Reinvented Runway Season

Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger are a few of the pioneers in the see-now, buy-now movement. Back in September, when designers would typically show their Spring collections, these labels showed in-season fall clothes, many of which were available for purchase immediately following the runway. As more designers embrace this new format, or opt out of organized fashion weeks altogether, one think is for sure: Fashion Week will never be the same.
