The best of #ELLECanadaOOTD: Devon Butler

The girl: Devon Butler, @devonariana Homebase: Toronto The gig: “Recent graduate.” Wearing: “This look cost under $50! I found the skirt on a sale rack at Marshall’s for $10. TEN. DOLLARS. I styled it with a black H&M crop top, a Brandy Melville velvet choker and nude shoes from Primark.” Why we love her look: Devon rocks this outfit with the kind of confidence money can't buy. What’s your style philosophy: “Don’t get stuck in that high school mentality which says you must fall within a specific narrow category. Explore, expand and evolve.” The most prized possession in your closet: “Vintage Dior silk trousers from Réciproque in Paris.” Whose closet would you love to raid: “A combination of Keira Knightley, every Jenner/Kardashian, Emily Ratajkowski and a 1930s cinematic costume design warehouse that only exists in my dreams." What’s the best style advice you’ve ever received: “My parents are practical people which has taught me to utilize what’s in my closet, be creative when putting together outfits and only splurge on staple pieces. Also, my sister has a very minimalist style and would constantly nag me about having “too much going on.” I learnt to go easy on the accessories and not use fashion as a way to hide my insecurities. Self-confidence overpowers anything you are wearing.” One fashion rule you live by: “Fashion is meant to be fun and experimental. I like to take risks and try new looks. It’s good to get out of your comfort zone.” READ MORE: Maxi dresses you can actually rock this fall

The best of #ELLECanadaOOTD: Thera Warren

The girl: Thera Warren, @thera_cloud14 Homebase: Toronto The gig: “Freelance stylist & blogger.” Wearing: “Junarose Global Denim (which I distressed myself!), Sweater from F21Plus, Gold Furla Candy Bag & Loafers from Long Tall Sally.” Why we love her look: Distressed jeans and statement-making hats are key components of many a winning look this season. The most prized possession in your closet: “My Vintage Louis Vuitton Speedy 40. It's over 10 years old and still in pristine condition.” Whose closet would you love to raid: “Without a doubt, I would love to raid blogger Rochelle Johnson's from Beauticurve.com. Her style is timeless and classy with a girly edge.” One thing to tell your younger self: “To embrace your height. I was always self conscious as a teen being 6 feet tall often towering over my friends. My height is now my favourite physical characteristic [and I don't mind]  emphasizing it while rocking heels.” One thing you've always wanted to know about the fashion industry: “How the runway models change so fast and manage to look calm and collected. There must be an art to that.” The best style advice you've ever received: “Dress for your size as you are now. Don't wait to rock a garment in the hopes that you'll lose weight or change something about your body.” READ MORE: Soo Joo, Doutzen, Taylor Hill and more

The best of #ELLECanadaOOTD: Samantha Bawan

The girl: Samantha Bawan @bawansisters Homebase: Edmonton The gig: “Doctor.” Wearing: “Banana Republic dress, Karen Walker sunglasses, JCrew shoes.” Why we love her look: Our daily dose of Vitamin C. C for chic, that is! The most prized possession in your closet: “A pair of Alexander McQueen Titanic boots. These were never put into production and the pair I own were the ones worn on the runway. I still have never found an opportunity to wear them!” Whose closet would you love to raid: “Rachel Zoe's. Is there anything she doesn't have?!” On inspiration: “I can't say I have one style icon. I really admire Miroslav Duma's style. She always looks classy and elegant. I love that she wears lots of patterns and colour. I have never seen an outfit of hers that I didn't love.” What’s the best style advice you’ve ever received: “Dress for your body shape. There are many styles I love but that do not complement my figure. Once I realized what works for me shopping is less of a challenge.” One fashion rule you live by: “No matter what I am wearing, if I look tired it doesn't work. For me, a good night's sleep is always key.” READ MORE: Where we're shopping in Toronto this season

I love how she can incorporate so many different patterns, colours and textures into one cohesive, wearable outfit.” If you could sit front-row at any fashion show, what would it be: "Louis Vuitton. The best of #ELLECanadaOOTD: Sydney Hoffman

The girl: Sydney Hoffman, @sydhoff3 Homebase: Toronto The gig: "Fashion blogger." Wearing: “Gentle Fawn plaid shirt dress, Club Monaco hat, Yoins over the knee boots, Chanel bag, Aldo sunglasses.” Why we love her look: Easy, artful and urban. Sydney has it right! The one piece of fashion advice you would give others: “The one thing I wish I could tell my younger self is to only buy things if you are REALLY going to use and wear them. If you have any doubt, or uncertainty in any item of clothing you are going to purchase...odds are, you won't wear it.” One fashion rule you live by: “Don't change and wear things to fit in. Wear what you love. There are numerous trends I cannot stand and would never wear. Just because they are considered the cool thing at the time doesn't mean I love it, or that it looks flattering on me.” READ MORE: Belted trousers are the It pant for fall
