Tommy Hilfiger just launched an adaptive line

This brand just became a lot more inclusive.

Tommy Hilfiger has taken a step towards inclusivity with the launch of a new adaptive apparel line for adults. The collection offers modified clothing for differently abled customers, made with the aim of making dressing easier.

Hilfiger's goal with this project was to "empower differently abled adults to express themselves through fashion.”
He based the designs on pieces from the label’s sportswear collections, adjusting hems and openings and adding magnetic and Velcro closures with the needs of individuals and caretakers in mind.

The news comes after Hilfiger launched its first adaptive collection for children in Spring 2016. The adult line debuted on October 18th and is available now on tommy.com.

This is an amazing step toward greater inclusivity in the fashion industry, in an area pioneered by one of Canada’s very own designers, Izzy Camilleri. Camilleri is renowned for her Iz Collection, which was designed around a seated frame in order to create better styles for wheelchair users. We hope that the fashion industry continues to follow suit and expand their horizons.
