Kors strength
All the editors look forward to Michael Kors’ show because his kind of fashion genius never disappoints. Case in point: his spring 2016 collection.  I loved the georgette, lace and crushed cotton. His aesthetic always captures a perfectly balanced mix of sophistication and cozy comfort. Kendall Jenner—who closed the show—reflected everyone’s mood with her beaming smile.

Vacay style never looked this good!
Suno also offered up an effortless mix of military-inspired vacation style. Shades of blue, cream and red tucked themselves into oversized silhouettes that could be belted at the waist or left fancy free. Asymmetrical hemlines were plentiful and innovative, and the uniquely heeled footwear struck an effortless combination of chic and wearable.

Red Carpet fantasy gowns
The runway for Naeem Khan’s show hinted at what was to come with its bougainvillea covered whitewashed Mediterranean

doors, but the sheer magnitude of beauty that followed was one of those pinch-me fashion moments. The models—who evoked the spirit of Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot and Jackie Kennedy—wore shimmering ball gowns with lace and crystals with a scarf wrapped elegantly around their hair. Origami chiffon, satin, and taffeta lent a sophisticated air to the more wildly patterned pieces, with colours and shapes that swirled over the body in the most breathtaking of ways. Red Carpet stylists are already putting in their requests.

Retro Hawaiian adventures
As Gigi Hadid sauntered down a runway lined with palm trees we knew we were in for fun fashion. The models wore leis, tropical prints and wearable versions of the hula skirt. We particularly loved the silk bomber jackets, styled over voluminous dresses and printed bikinis.

Girl Crush
The belle of the fashion ball this season (and any) is Lupita Nyong’o. I had a chance to witness that grace up close when I was seated near her at the Hugo Boss show. We were also smitten with the collection from designer Jason Wu. He maintained the sleek sophistication of the iconic label while adding wisps of coloured tulle, flowing skirts and raw textiles.

Fashion mashup party!
At JCrew it was all about playing with colours, prints and patterns. Think gingham, sequins and cheeky prints accented with gems around the neck and ears. The shining moment? Watching Jenna Lyons and Iris Apfel having a little chat as they made their way around the venue, chatting about the collection.
