Zooey Deschanel loves finding “crumpled” designer outfits at thrift stores.

The actress is reluctant to call herself a fashion icon, although she is interested in style. For Zooey, it’s important to find things that other people don’t have.

“To be honest, I have a strange relationship with the fashion world. Most of the things I buy are vintage finds that I get in thrift stories in Ventura, California. I think half the fun is finding a Chanel suit crumpled in a bin bag for 50 cents,” she said.

The 32-year-old star still enjoys shopping for the perfect outfit with her friends. She always enjoys seeing how different the same item can look on people.

“Everyone tries on the same thing and you see how a dress takes on the personality of the wearer,” she told Look magazine. “I think that’s interesting about fashion is that it’s so practical and whimsical at the same time.” © Cover Media
