By their very definition, jackets have collars, shoulders and sleeves. In certain stylish circles (ahem, street style) it’s de rigueur to wear a jacket in direct opposition to function, comfort and warmth. The jacket-as-cape comes to mind. Now, a new take emerges.
Stars have taken to wearing a jacket slung off the shoulder, so it hangs in the crook of their elbows.
If you think about it, it’s an assertion of superiority—you can’t carry a bag when you’re clutching the cuffs of your jacket to keep it from falling off (but you have an entourage to carry it for you).
